Pikchers.

Fishy barbecue for fisherians.

Remember I have mentioned earlier on about having a bad intuition. Well, yeah, it actually came just before the barbecue.
Lyn didn't really have the intention of going for the barbecue, but I managed to persuade her. Unfortunately, she had a last minute thing to attend to. Which means to say, she can't accompany me to the barbecue as well.
(Yes, I am making you feel guilty.)
So it made me hesitate whether to go or not. In the end, I went.

I arrived at around 2045 and Ash got out to bring me in. I was there for barely five minutes and I left the crowd, promenading and snapping some shots of the scenery. When I got back, Farhan told me to take random shots since I brought my camera along, and so I did.
(Pictures will be up soon!)

Anyway, Farhan loves prawns too. He kindly removed the shells for me and fed me those scrumptious prawns. Nadz kept claiming credit for marinating the prawns.

Then we played charades. Everyone had a turn at it.

So Kyril drove me and I arrived home slightly before 0300.

I know this isn't substantial enough, but I really can't narrate every single thing as they seemed to blurry to me now.

So till then, goodnight.

Almost a fresh start.

All right, so I have deleted all my 2006 posts. There were a total of 103 entries. I wouldn't say it was a hefty sum, but for someone like me, I suppose it was good enough.
No regrets in deleting them at all.
The first post I had for this
blog was dated on 8 April, 2006. So this coming April, my blog will celebrate her three years of existence. Never thought she could actually live that long.

26 January 2009, Wednesday:

I had to work. So did Nabz.
What do we do?
We meet up, of course!

They said it was freeeking busy that morning.
What do we do?
We panicked, of course!
I mean, come on, there were so little staff on the floor that morning.

Nabz started at five, and I started 30 minutes earlier. Initially, I was doing station B. Nabz was doing A, and Mon, our greeter. Whenever the hatch bell rang, Nabz would head for the hatch and then call for me to run the food for her. So funny of her. Haha.

Then Betty came. As usual, she did bar runner.

Next came Diana, from Glass House. Since she wasn't familiar with the arrangement of our tables, she was assigned to do runner. Yes, I whined, because I had to be both a station master and a greeter. Mon had already knocked off from her morning shift. It was kind of hectic for me because I don't recall handling both B and greeter stand at night before. Anyway, yeah, I got so frustrated at one point of time, but a guest managed to say something comforting. A mere "Never mind, just take your time" lifted my spirits.

Two things to complain about:
1. DON'T SOME GUESTS KNOW HOW TO EAT GRACEFULLY?!
2. CAN'T THE GUESTS BE DECISIVE ON WHAT THEY WANT TO EAT?!
These two actions of typical customers seriously slow us down.

Thankfully Diana came down to help. She was fun to have. Honestly, she looks younger than Nabz and I, but she is already 23! How cool is that.

Well well, I've got to go prepare myself for our fishy barbecue now. I hope everything will turn out well tonight.
(I have a bad hunch.)

Nabzxzxzx darling, take care of yourself. You better hydrate yourself with gallons and gallons of wawter. We'll miss you(:

Till then!

Hot!

I desperately need to kill my time now, so I shall bore myself with the content of my current post. Ultimately, I will be the one who would actually bother to read my older posts.

I have the 115Th issue of Hot right in front of me now and I will talk about it's contents. Just some of my personal preferences. Boring, isn't it? Oh well..
I have never done something like such before, but there's always a first for all.

What's hot about this issue?
Definitely the Reader's Poll Result 2009!

1. HOTTEST FEMALE OF THE YEAR
49%-Angelina Jolie
I would personally dedicate my vote to Jessica Alba and Megan Fox.

2. HOTTEST MALE OF THE YEAR
40%-Zac Efron
What more can I say? He's puuurrrrrfect.
I would dedicate my vote to Orlando Bloom and Chris Evans too!

3. HOTTEST COUPLE OF THE YEAR
28%-Nicole Scherzinger and Lewis Hamilton
Well, I don't think I have any preferences for this title at the moment.

4. HOTTEST FASHION ICON OF THE YEAR
34%-Katy Perry
19%-Agyness Deyn
I would support the latter and dedicate my vote to Jessica Alba.

5. HOTTEST MALE BEACH BODY OF THE YEAR
40%-Zac Efron
No doubt about that!
Unfortunately, Hugh Jackman and James Franco were being categorised as others.

6. HOTTEST FEMALE BODY OF THE YEAR
62%-Rihanna
I would prefer Jessica Alba and Annalynne Mccord.

7. HOTTEST MUMMY OF THE YEAR
52%-Jessica Alba
Awesome.

8. HOTTEST DADDY OF THE YEAR
45%-Hugh Jackman
Need I say more?

9. HOTTEST KID ON THE BLOCK
74%-Suri Cruise
She's the kid everyone wants to be.

10. HOTTEST SUPERHERO OF THE YEAR
33%-Robert Downey Jr. as Ironman
Beat that, Batman!

There are two more titles which I am too lazy to mention. Read up and you'll know.

Sweetest dreams.
Goodnight.

Run.

It may have only been hundred minutes ago, but I already feel detached from the rope.

So, I was working just now, night shift, again.
I arrived at Fish & Co. half and hour before my shift. As expected, but I was glad. Tweety was there, and it had been a long time since I last saw her! I took my own sweet time in preparing myself for the shift. I didn't think much about my deployment for tonight as I thought I wouldn't be the runner.
But no. I was being deployed as the runner, yet again. I love being a runner, but come on, it's a Saturday night! Haha.
May Ann: Jean, you're the runner again!
Jean: Ya, I'm always the runner.
Mon: Next time, you don't have to check your schedule, just check runner.

That fellow did the briefing today. It seemed like I never had briefing for ages, really. The briefing was addressed to quite a number of us, I suppose. Let me see, Dyla, Lynette, Mon, Eric, May Ann, Hannah, Ashaari and I. That fellow said that we were being allocated the stations we're most comfortable at. Dyla was our bar runner, Betty for the day. Lynette, our greeter. Mon, station B master. Eric, station C/D master, with the assistance of Ash. May Ann, station A master. Hannah, our bartender. Ash, floating around like a lost fish in the vast sea. Last but not least, Jean, the runner.

Everything was generally fine tonight as it wasn't that busy. Guests did not come in all at once, and that was a relief to all of us. There were a couple of hilarious moments as well. Anyway, we had lots of leftovers today. It was like a spread as we placed it on table 38 and 39. We had two pizzas, a pan of rice and another pan of chips, a pan of grilled dory and a pan of brownie. You can expect how everyone reacted when we saw the food.

That's about it.

I can't find a way out.
And the clocks are broken, leaking time.
One more second, I may die.
'Cause my wounds are open, bleeding life.

Goodnight.

Rotten luck.

Whore's charm didn't work on me. Lyn's prayers didn't really come true too. Well, with the exception of one or two, out of at least ten.
Takper, hari berhenti. Tapi aku tak lupa hari ini tidak gembira peristiwa. Aku hari tidak baik. Sampai begitu sedih.

Aku tidur sekarang.
Selamat malam.
(Ketawa, ketawa.)

May tomorrow be a better day.
Cheers.
Goodnight.
Sweetest dreams, Jean.
Love you, girl.

Once upon a time..

I feel like posting every s i n g l e detail of today that I can possibly recall when no one is disturbing me yet. But then again, having myself to read a prolix post is already very tedious. Nonetheless, I am going to attempt on doing so.

Let's just skip the whole process of me waking up and preparing myself for work and my journey to Fish & Co, because, it's a bore!
Just to highlight something. I was on bus 21 and a Malay lady in her mid-forties who sat right in front of me left me a pleasant impression of herself. As it suggests, she was dressed in her traditional costume with tudong and all, sitting upright with her posture like a wealthy madame. She placed her hands together, positioning it on her thighs. Despite chewing something in her mouth, I still felt that she had a good upbringing.

Anyway, I would have lots to blabber about since I was working just now.

So, lunch at Fish & Co. was great, though I hadn't had much.
(I ate at home before I left for work.) Sounds so Lyn, haha.
Aunty Florence, Aunty Julie, Betty, Khai and I were at the table eating, and at times, when comical stuff happens, you just have to be ignorant and swallow your laughter down with your food.

I went to work early, but I started out ten minutes late. I thought my deployment would remain unchanged-station A/ runner, so I took my time for granted. But no, I was the station master for B, naturally being a greeter as well. Not that I dread it, but I am never good at doing greeter, so I was uptight. My start would never sail smoothly. My first customers were a group of fifteen people. I panicked, as usual.

I wondered if we earned much from this huge group. I remembered vaguely that they ordered a Shellfish Platter(Grilled), several Seafood Platters for 1 and 2, two Big Fish Drinks and all of the US cakes, with the exception of Dulce De Leche. I am weak in Math.

I was clumsy today, and I'm never a fan of it. I dropped the wooden block while wiping it, and I toppled a cup with cutleries over, but thankfully, it was at the scullery area when this happened.
Jean: Oops, sorry!
Charie: You know uh, my heart also went like that.

Anyway, I came across several types of customers today that got my attention more than other guests. I have seen many kinds of guests before, but this will be my first time bringing it up over here. Nothing negative to mention, though.
All right, so there was this Malay couple who came in, and I must say, they are pretty young, being parents at their age, especially with a toddler in a pram and a foetus in the mum's womb. It was such a sweet family. This little girl, whose name I have forgotten, has really beautiful features which resembles her mum better. It was definitely my pleasure to serve them because they were patient with me and stuff.
I would rate them 7/10 on my guests-o-meter.

Another table of people that caught my attention was a family of three.
My guess: they aren't local.
They conversed among themselves in some language that I couldn't make out.
1. They were mumbling.
2. They spoke too fast.
3. I am only a bilingual.

It may have been a little difficult interacting with them due to language barrier, but they are one of the most courteous, affable guests I have served. They thanked me after almost every thing I placed on their table. I felt awkward, though. Nevertheless, they were pleasant to serve.
I would rate them 8/10 on my guests-o-meter.

I think at least three guests dined in alone. They were also nice to serve, really.

Generally, these groups of people are nicer to serve than office staffs. Guess why?
Go figure.

Since I was the greeter, I brought Shikin and her boyfriend in. Charie was so curious to know what his name was. Dzulfadhli, by the way. I know because I processed the bill, so shhh..
Of course it was easy to serve her too, haha.

This is pathetic, but I picked up my first call today. I know how it goes, but I never muster my courage to get the phone, until today. So right after May Ann and Charie went through the procedure with me, the phone rang.
Of course I panicked.
But they urged me to pick up the phone. So I did.
The standard phrase.
Jean: Hi, good afternoon. Thank you for calling Fish & Co. at Tampines Mall. I'm Jean. How may I assist you?
Phhheeeeewwwww!
Then I heard a familiar voice at the opposite side of the line. Clueless on who.
Unknown: Hi. This is Jean, right? I'm Ton. I'm looking for Charie.
Jean: Oh! Hey, Ton.
Unknown: Yeah, is Charie there?
Jean: Charie? Please hold on.

I messed things up, but thankfully, I know the caller. He's Ton from T2.
So my virgin pick-up-the-phone-within-3-rings was dedicated to Ton and not some furious guest demanding for the manager.

I have no idea why, but towards the end of my shift, we began stamping each other with the inked stamps. I think I was getting restless, so I took the biggest stamp and inked it on Betty's arm. May Ann joined in by writing on Betty's arm. Then I went over to Nadz and stamped his hand too. So I thought everything was over.
But no.
Nadz stamped a red 'verified' on me and a red 'checked' on May Ann. I stamped a 'checked' on Ash too. Childish people over here.

I'm so hungrrryyyyy now!

After I knocked off, I waited at the staff lounge for Lyn to come. Lynette and Farhan came down too. So I was reading Hot, then Ash and Farhan read it too. You know, with all the hot babes in this edition. Nadz read it too. When Lyn came, she kept grumbling about her not reading the magazine first. There were so much laughter and all. They finally realised how girls are like when they are bitching about celebrities and all. Haha.

At this point of time, I'm the only lonely soul left drifting here. I have a bad feeling about tomorrow, so please prove me wrong.
Work your charm, whore.

Pray hard!
Goodnight, lovely beings(:
Sweetest dreams.

I wish for a fresh start.

I really do.

Leave me to be dependent for all I care. Let me rely on others. I exchanged my happiness for independence. Was it worth while? I would like to know.

Now, I would like to start afresh by posting a New Year resolution. It's a tad too late because this is somewhat on impulse. I mean, it is definitely something I would want to achieve, though. I can't be bothered to explain myself. Save it.
New Year resolution:
With all the sincerity I have, I hope to grow more maturely. I wish to think and behave wisely.

I don't want the elders to think that I am immature and all. They would always have the perception that my unconventional acts are out of impulse and irresponsibility. They would reckon that I haven't pondered twice before acting on it. They would have the impression that I go for what I want and not what I need.

Hey, it isn't always the case. I thought about it for a month before getting a tattoo. Yes, I did that even though it was a small tattoo, because I have the basic knowledge of it. It is permanent, I know. I may not be smart at all, but neither am I very dumb.

Yes, maturity.

I miss my mum.

City and city lights.

1. I am barely sixteen for a month.
2. I was home all day long.
3. I feel like ignoring my phone for the day, really.

Nadz: You cannot stop looking at your phone uh.
Jean: Yeah, just checking.
Ash: What would you do if you lose your phone?
Jean: *shrugs* I don't know. Don't want that to happen.
Nadz: Not to be mean, but I want to see you lose your phone.
Jean: Hey!
Ash: If phone is your most important thing, what is the second most important?
Five seconds later..
Nadz: Charger lah.

Jean: (checks pocket) Where's my phone?
Nadz: You uh.
Lyn: Huh? Your pocket?
Fifteen seconds later..
Jean: Oh, found it on my bag.
Nadz: See, cannot live without your phone.
Jean: If one day my phone go missing, I know who took it.

I've been reading some stuff online today and I realised that even happy people are troubled with different kinds of problems. Okay, not that I haven't know this all along, it's just that it hasn't seep deep into my heart for me to acknowledge that fact.
This is how I feel in the day.
My mood changes as time goes by.

It pains me to hear his past.
It pains me to hear her past.
It pains me to hear your past.
It pains me to hear their past.

Once bitten and twice shy. Thought you were so nonchalant.
The birds, the grass.
The clouds, the sand.
The moon, the aisle.
The stars, the sea.

Before I Fall In Love

Someone to have and hold
With all my heart and soul
I need to know
Before I fall in love
Someone who'll stay around
Through all my ups and downs
So tell me now
Before I fall in love

And I'm at the point of no return
So afraid of getting burned
But I wanna take a chance
Oh please
Give me a reason to believe
Say you're the one that you'll always be

It's been so hard for me
To give my heart away
But I would give my everything
Just to hear you say...

Anyway, at your own accord, listen to
Drowning once more. Old songs may mean a lot.

I'll be back(:

Trails I left.

05 February 2007:

Those raindrops that fell,
those candles we lit.
The memories we had,
were never too vague.

Those roads that crossed,
those stars we admired.
The days we spent,
were never too serious.

I took a step,
that seemed so mild,
but I didn't expect,
it pierced so deep.

A wrong decision,
you reckoned otherwise.
A touch of love,
for the next one.

Hence I realised,
I miss you so.
Now and always,
and even the past.

A foolish mistake,
I've said it thrice.
To make you return,
it seems so nought.

I still want to say,
I miss you so.
Will you come back,
for me, my love?

10 February 2007:

Everyday, as dusk falls on me, I fear the night.
A sense of emptiness awaits for my arrival.
My mind starts to wonder, lingering into the past.
Far stretched to 17 September 2005.
Those memories are etched in my heart.
Those memories were enriched with our love, protected by our minds.
Till now, they are still revolving around me.
I refrain myself from having my thoughts running wild.
How naive of us, to have the same mature sentiments once.
Something we can never fufil now.
It is hurtful, I have to endure.
My heart is aching, beyond my control.
I love you, I shouldn't have.

27 February 2007:

Time has past,
you broke into pieces.
Confused, I am.
Aches, I feel.
Sitting on the fence,
to probe you,
or let things by?

You stared with an emptiness,
and I swept my sight away.
Our shoulders brushed briefly,
like leaves whispering softly.
A mile apart, but your smell stays.
Yearning a glance of you,
but I never saw your shadow again.

21 July 2007:

When I was younger,
it felt as though I owned the world.
Holding my mind above the sky,
roaming around each inch of earth,
wherever my legs would bring me to.

Moshing in concerts,
hooking up those whores.
A Casanova, I ever was.
Frisky, frivolous, a sick state of mind.

And life, sailing along the breeze,
with everything just beneath my feet.

Now that I'm older,
absurd misfortunes befell on me.
Robbing my happiness away from me.
Distraught and helpless,
that's all I can feel.

Relying on inventions just to live.
A flair for art,but a statue myself.
My pride was trampled a thousand times,
being mocked as 'The Frozen One'.

An insignificant withered leaf,
a beating heart that deemed so dead.

12 October 2007:

Now as I announce the fall of dusk,
my delicate heart has quietened down.
I drew the curtains of my eyes,
while I queued for slumber land.
Awaiting for a dream to appear,
yet a nightmare was indeed arriving.
I awoke with an instilled fear,
and swirled away from reality.

Dream is an urge, nightmare is a fear.

16 November 2007:

Past has passed, and gone.
You threw me away,
and worn me out.
What is left behind,
are merely words that kept are inside.

Those hidden words behind your face,
they speak the truth of your woven lies.
Those false smiles that you portrayed,
sent me straight to a city of delusion.

28 January 2008:

That cold stare reflected from your eyes
That forceful smile drawn across your mouth
The stale air that hovered in between
The seeming stillness kept as apart

29 January 2008:

Trying to distant myself from the sprinting love,
yet the crawling takes me breathless.

Monday, January 19, 2009

Inflated balloon.

Human beings and all.

It had been ages since I last had a satisfying good night sleep. I got up at 1300 and started to prepare myself at the pace of a snail.
(Snails and slugs. Horrible, disgusting creatures. I challenge you to blend them together with tomato juice and gulp in down.)

I was supposed to meet Shayne and Jordan at 1600 and I thought I would be late as I left my house at 1545 and took a bus down to Tampines Mall. But apparently, I arrived earlier than them. Living examples of vain guys, haha.

We went down to Fish & Co. for the interview and Nadz was the one doing it. He didn't allow me to sit through the interview! Takper. So I they left after the interview while I stayed to help Lyn, as well as waited for her to knock off.

Lyn and I went up to Burger King to find Raphael and those vain pots. These guys really have lots to laugh about.

Lyn and I headed back to Fish & Co. to have a Hot Fudge. Farhan was doing bar and the best thing to do would be bullying him with an order.
Jean: Farhan.
Lyn: We ordered a Hot Fudge for you to prepare.
Farhan: Wa lau eh. You guys know that I am doing bar then keep bullying me.
Jean: Yeah. We know you're doing bar that's why we ordered.
Jean: At least it's a Hot Fudge, so easy.
Jean: Put the brownie inside to warm, scoop an ice cream. That's all.
Jean: We didn't even order salads.
Farhan: Ya, ya.
Farhan: (to Ashaari) See see, they bully me.

Farhan let us taste the tomato juice that we have and goodness gracious, it was awful. It has the taste of beer, but this juice is horrible.

After participating in one of the loudest birthday raps I have done, Ash prepared our Hot Fudge instead of Farhan. He drizzled a good amount of chocolate syrup on our brownie and gave us two scoops of ice cream. It was fabulous!
Yuuummmmmy.

We were bored, so we started doing silly things. We fiddled with the balloon pump and Lyn inflated some balloons. I once dismantled the pump and it was.. cool? After inflating the balloon, we let it go. That's what deprived kids do.

As if that was enough. We went to the office where Ash's bag was. I removed the lid from the hole puncher and poured everything into his bag. Then we inflated a balloon and stuffed a note in it and placed it in Nadz's bag. We wrote a note filled with gibberish and put it in Farhan's bag as well. It sort of ended there when Ash asked us to run an errand for him.
Got the whipped cream for the bar.

Lyn and I left the store at nine, and strolled home from the train station at Pasir Ris. Despite having few stars hanging in the vast sky, it was still beautiful, really. Both of us had a romantic moment spent together.

He would make a difference.
Pretty.

Selamat malam.
Sweetest dreams to you.

Narcolepsy.

It started off as a wonderful(not) day as I had to struggle to wake up and dragged myself out of bed. I had a workshop to attend to, thus, I had to get up so early.

Lyn and I met up pretty late and Hannah and Phoebe were at Pacific Tech Centre earlier than us. My group members this time were Lyn, Ryan, Nita and Cloud. Nita and Lyn both love to laugh at the slightest not-very-funny-joke, which actually made all of us laughed so badly. Even Ryan was laughing so hard.
Nita: ..Fish & Chips with bones. Hahaha.
Everyone: Hahaha.

We had to go down to Bugis to collect chili sauce and scallops. Then we travelled back to Tampines Mall as Lyn had to take over Nabz's shift. I accompanied her and met my mum outside Fish & Co. She highlighted her hair red over her orangey blonde base. It looked like metallic red, though. So pretty.

I decided to wait for Lyn to knock off, so I chatted with Ash at the staff lounge for about two to three hours. Charie needed him to run an errand, so I tagged along and wow, it was faster than what I expected.

I met Shayne at about 2000 and we went to the opened deck for a casual chat. It was of so much fun! It had been a long time since I last talked to him like that.

So yeah.
You.

Goodnight, you.
Loves.
